Project 1 - Artifice - Tempe a Paillia, Castella by Eileen Gray

Tempe a Pailla is loacted on a very small plot of the Chemin de Belvessasa.The site was steep and winding road from mentop up the mountain.The house had to built right on the road. Eileen made good use of the awkward terrain. she built on the existing water tanks which gave the house dominating position.At first galnce Castella seems to be more fragrented, this has certainly something to do with the fact that Eileen built here on a exsiting structure.The new building almost floats on the old foundation, both embracing the curve of the road. The house was created which stands in complete contrast to its surroundings. Its contain a large living room extended by a terrace , 2 small bedroom, dining room on the 1st floor, 3rd bedroom on the lower level.
